Aids Awareness / Africa T-Shirts Available at Traci Designs Store

My in-laws recently spent a considerable time in Ethiopia visiting orphanages and meeting the daughter they are in the process of adopting.  While there, they met a little eight year old boy who lost his parents to AIDS (just one of millions of children with similar stories).

What made his story especially troubling was that this charming little boy was diagnosed with HIV (during a routine adoption exam) shortly after getting the greatest news of his life – that he would be adopted.   As of right now his adoption has been canceled but we are praying that another family will welcome him into their home.

…and here I sit.  In my comfortable home..with healthy children…with an abundance of food…and with a loving family.

The problem seems insurmountable.  What can I do to help?  How can I support the children who are hurting so much?

I spent some time visiting various volunteer / non-profit agencies that provide assistance to AIDS orphans in Africa.  I was especially drawn to the 5 for Fifty organization

Therefore, I created a few shirts to promote awareness of this issue.  I will be donating the proceeds of the sale of these shirts to 5for50.com – click here to learn more.

This shirt features a red Africa stamp & hand print.  The background verse reads….

“From everyone who has been given much, much will be required, and from the one who has been entrusted with much, even more will be asked”. Luke 12:46

This shirt also features the red Africa stamp.  It reads “No More Apathy” with the definition in the background.

These shirts can be personalized or men, women, children or infants.

When you are creating your custom shirt, we encourage you to choose Edun Live apparel …this is why.

We make t-shirts that support sustainable socioeconomic development. Put simply, that means that when you buy one of our shirts, you help us to employ people in Africa who might otherwise be unemployed. We work with disenfranchised African citizens, teaching them to grow cotton, sew, and participate in the textile business. Our shirts are made in Africa by Africans. We support communities, give jobs to the jobless, and teach skills to people who lack specialized training.
